Life Day By Day

All I want for Christmas

All of us want something for Christmas. A surprise for those who are expecting nothing is a wonderful gift.

What do you want for Christmas? If you are unwell do you want health? If you are living in poverty do you want wealth? If you are unhappy do you want happiness? If we could all have our share of health, wealth and happiness this is a good beginning to Christmas.

But it does not end there. Before we know it Christmas is over and we are faced with a New Year. A New Year gives us hope. It gives us an opportunity of renewal. To think better, to be better, to live better. But it is up to us. We still have a few weeks to decide on our renewal plan for 2022.

For me, all I want for Christmas is to spend time with people I love. To share the moments that life gives only to the living – love, laughter and togetherness.

I am having a break from writing until the 14 January 2022. However, if you are looking for something to read you will find articles that are light hearted to social issues on my website.

Thank you to my loyal readers and those who stop by to read an article once in a while.

I wish you a Happy Christmas. Peace, health, and happiness for 2022.

Once again I leave you with one of my favourite poems by William Henry Davies. It tells you what I will be doing for the next month.

What is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.

No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows.

No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.

No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night.

No time to turn at Beauty’s glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance.

No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.

A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
