    Self-directed leadership

    When I started my professional life as a social worker back in the 1980s, I did not know much about self-directed leadership. Learning was through books or articles in libraries or bought in a book shop. Back then there were no computers, no emails and generally a lack of information. Any mail was filtered and controlled by the manager of my workgroup. She decided what information would be of interest to the rest of us.
