    On Friday I went to the 78th Maleny Agricultural Show where there was an opportunity for the locals to show off. There were all the animals you would expect to find on the farm, cooking, handicrafts, cut flowers, farm produce, displays, rides, games, food, entertainment and more. Agricultural Shows are a wonderful meeting place to catch up with friends, take the family and enter exhibits whether this is cattle or cakes to prove you are the best, a perfect show off!     A Fortunate Life

    Lately at different times of my day I have been mulling over the fact that I have a fortunate life. The conflict in other parts of the world, the killing and wounding of innocent people including children makes me realise how fortunate I am. This trajectory took me to the autobiography written in 1981 by Albert Facey titled “A Fortunate Life”. It is an Australian Literature classic.     What! Ethical Knitting

    Several months ago I joined a local knitting group and today I am asking myself ‘am I and is it ethical’? The knitting group is called “Busy Needles”. We knit for people in hospitals, aged care, and premature babies. I first learned to knit when I was in primary school. Later I knitted a few items in my 20’s. Since then I only attempted a ‘Weekend Knit’. It was meant to be finished in a few days. Yet for me 12 years past and it was still unfinished.
